The Story
When Rustic & Main began, we had it on our heart to do something to support our Veterans. We knew we wanted to do a special ring for them, but it took awhile for the design to come to us. Mike, the founder, ended up having a chance (or fated) meeting within Donald McAlister from The Independence Fund, an organization doing some awesome things to help our wounded soldiers and their families. We knew this was the cause we wanted to get behind, and shortly afterwards, this special wooden wedding ring came to be.
5% of Proceeds go to The Independence Fund
As a way of giving back to those who have given so much to us, we are giving 5% of proceeds from this ring purchase to The Independence Fund. It's a great way to show our support and honor those who have served so well.

Materials
Purple Heart Wood
The Purple Heart medal is awarded to those brave soldiers who have been wounded or killed in combat, and traces its origins back to General George Washington and his Continental Army. It was, therefore, only fitting for us to include purple heart wood as the main theme and unique character of this ring. Purple heart wood is not dyed, but is naturally a deep, rich purple hue which intensifies over time.
M1 Garand Rifle Stock c. WWII
We decided to pair the purple heart interior of the wood ring with dark walnut from WWII era M1 Garand rifle stock wood. The determination of our wounded vets is so inspiring. Regardless of the wounds sustained, so many of them want to get back to the fight and stand shoulder to shoulder with their fellow soldiers. The M1 Garand served as the rifle for the Greatest Generation, and is more than a symbol of the fighting spirit that lives on.
Yellow Gold Offset Inlay
The Purple Heart medal has a distinctive yellow gold border and we found that pairs well with our ring as well. While it is a great complimenting gold for this ring, we can also use Rose Gold, White Gold, or Sterling Silver. See the options on the page.
